You know that National Day is around the corner when you see these flags fluttering along with the wind. They might not be much of a decoration, but it adds a sense of festivity. They are placed all around Singapore so no matter if you are living in the West or in the East, there is unity.
The banners covering the walls of the HDB flats add a splash of colour to the otherwise uniform-looking buildings. They are hung up in celebration of SG50. The colours used are vibrant and eye-catching, visually brightening the surroundings. It makes the place much more cheerful. I like how the banners form a huge butterfly when viewed as a whole.
The bark of the tree is rough and hard and yet a little seedling could grow through it.
Broken concrete pieces on the ground. It shows how strong and destructive tree roots are. They grow slowly, but surely. A reminder that nature is a force to be reckoned with.
The remnants of a huge tree. I can only imagine what kind of tree once stood tall and majestic at this very place. I always felt that chopping a tree away is a huge affair. After all, a tree houses many other living things such and birds and insects. Removal of the tree hence equates to destroying their homes.
